Classic chess is a traditional two-player strategic board game played on an 8×8 grid comprising 64 squares. Each player begins with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns. The primary objective is to checkmate your opponent’s king, placing it under threat of capture with no escape.
